Love is Our Doctrine, Service is Our Prayer
We are a small, open-thinking, inclusive faith community based out of a little chapel in the rural town of Eldorado, Ohio. We have been part of the fabric of our community since 1849. Together we seek inspiration, lift up one another’s joys and concerns in our hearts, and strive to be of service to our community. In our worship we sing, pay attention to our shared humanity, explore contemporary Biblical scholarship, engage in interfaith dialog with the World Religions, contemplate connections between science and religion, and lift up one another’s joys and concerns in our hearts. We do these things to engage one another in cultivating lives that grow in ethics, compassion, and Spirit. At the largest scale our ultimate hope is that all souls might grow into harmony with one another, and that which is Divine.
Our Women’s Association has been active in ministry with our community since they first convened in 1889 as the Universalist Women’s Missionary Association. We meet monthly for fellowship and charitable fundraising projects. New members of the Women’s Association are always welcome and do not need to be official church members to participate in these good works.
